Norwegian Majesty to be based in Charleston

MIAMI -- Norwegian Cruise Line will introduce Charleston, S.C., as a homeport to the Norwegian Majesty beginning Nov. 8.

The Charleston cruises will be NCL's first from South Carolina; the Majesty was previously scheduled for winter cruising from Miami.

NCL touted the move as another U.S.-based homeport in its "Homeland Cruising" program. With the addition of Charleston, NCL has ships sailing from 13 North American ports.

The ship will sail 24 seven-day cruises to the Western Caribbean before repositioning to Boston for its Bermuda season.
