Oasis of the Seas passengers to get full refunds after norovirus outbreak

Royal Caribbean International said it will issue full refunds to the 5,400+ passengers on the current Oasis of the Seas cruise that has suffered an outbreak of gastro-intestinal illness.

The Oasis will return to Port Canaveral one day early, on Saturday, for cleaning before its next departure on Sunday, Royal said.

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control a total of 266 passengers have reported being ill on the ship, or about 4.2%.

The Oasis is the first ship to report an outbreak to the CDC this year, after a 2018 in which only 547 passengers were affected by gastro-intestinal outbreaks over the course of the year.
