Obituary: Cruise veteran Dick Knott

Dick KnottCruise industry veteran Richard "Dick" Knott died on Monday after a short illness. He was 72.

Knott was most well known in the cruise industry as president of Dolphin Cruise Line and senior vice president of Seawind Cruises.

He also held sales and marketing positions with Norwegian Cruise Line, Holland America Line and Delta Queen Steamboat Co.

Most recently, Knott had taken on the responsibilities of area vice president operations for GuestGhosts.com, a company that does site inspections of hotels and restaurants for their clients.

Knott resided in St. Peters, Mo., with his wife, Pam. He is also survived by two sons, Richard K. and Paul; three daughters, Kimberly, Kristen and Karla; and seven grandchildren.
