Orient-Express Hotels, which operates
hotels, trains, restaurants and river cruises, has acquired Afloat
in France, a company that operates five luxury canal barges in the
Burgundy and Provence regions of France.
In 2004,
Orient-Express purchased 50% of the company in anticipation of
taking it over at a later date but decided to accelerate the
timetable for expanding Afloats operations.
