Pearl Seas Cruises will name its first ship the Pearl Mist when the 210-passenger new-build is completed in the first quarter of 2009.
The ship, which originally was supposed to debut this month, is being outfitted at Irving Shipbuilding in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The Pearl Mist will operate seven-, 10-, 11- and 14-night cruises in the Caribbean, New England, Eastern Canada and the Great Lakes.
The luxury line is an offshoot of small-ship operator American Cruise Lines. Pearl signed a deal in September 2006 with Irving to build two luxury cruise ships that were slated to enter service in the summers of 2008 and 2009.
