Add Pearl Seas Cruises to the list of lines that gained
permission to go to Cuba this week.
The one-ship line said final authority was granted for its
schedule of 10-day cruises, with the first departing Fort Lauderdale on Jan.
17. Pearl Seas has 11 cruises scheduled through the end of April.
Unlike several other lines that won the right to dock in
Cuba, Pearl Seas has been selling the cruises for months. List prices for
inside cabins on the 200-passenger Pearl Mist begin at $7,800.
The 10-day cruises will overnight in Havana and touch six
other stops on the island, including Cienfuegos, Trinidad and Santiago de Cuba.
"There is significant demand to visit Cuba on a smaller
ship, and we are honored to be among the first cruise lines to have access to
the country," said Pearl Seas vice president Timothy Beebe.
