Compagnie du Ponant’s Le Boreal yacht will offer 12 voyages to Scandinavia, Iceland, Greenland and Canada’s Arctic Coast during the spring and summer of 2011.

Le Boreal will enter service on Oct. 18 and spend its inaugural season in Antarctica and South America. The 264-passenger yacht will depart Miami on a transatlantic sailing to Marseilles, France, on April 12.

After a three-day cruise to Lisbon, Le Boreal will head to Copenhagen, Denmark, where the first of three eight-day Copenhagen-Stockholm cruises will embark on May 17. The ship will call in Tallinn, Estonia; Riga, Latvia; Helsinki, Finland; and St. Petersburg, Russia.

A seven-day cruise along Norway’s coast will be followed by 13-day voyage to Reykjavik, Iceland, that takes in Norway’s North Cape, Lofoten Islands and Spitsbergen Island.

Three seven-day Iceland cruises will depart Reykjavik in July. Two Le Boreal cruises in August will showcase Greenland, one paired with Iceland and another with the Inuit territory of Nunavut in Canada.

After a 12-day voyage along Canada’s Arctic Coast, Le Boreal will embark on a 12-day Canada-New England cruise. The ship wraps up the season with two 10-day Boston-Montreal sailings.
