Princess Cancels Holy Land Sailing

LOS ANGELES -- Princess Cruises canceled the Dec. 1 Holy Land sailing of the Island Princess in order to make repairs to the ship's starboard propeller. The ship is in dry dock in Naples, Fla.

Its propeller was damaged when the ship hit an unmarked obstruction when entering Civitavecchia, the port for Rome, on a previous cruise.

Passengers booked on the Dec. 1 departure were offered a full refund and 50% off a future cruise (not applicable to air) or they may switch to a Princess Holy Land cruise later in the season and get 25% off the price paid.

Commissions will be protected on bookings of passengers who opt for the full refund and agents will get a $25 administration fee for any passenger rebooked on a later cruise, based on space availability.

To rebook, agents can call (800) 243-7342, Ext. 3080.
