Princess Cruises said it has canceled a port call at Cabo San Lucas on Mexico’s Baja peninsula that was scheduled for Sept. 26.

The area was ravaged by Hurricane Odile earlier this month, leaving the tourism infrastructure impaired.

The 1,970-passenger Coral Princess will call at Puerto Vallarta on the west coast of Mexico’s mainland instead. The ship is scheduled to arrive at 7 a.m. and depart at 5 p.m.

The Carnival Miracle is scheduled to call in early October. A Carnival Cruise Lines spokesman said it is assessing the recovery from the storm before making a decision on the port call.

Odile’s winds of up to 125 miles an hour damaged dozens of resorts and left the region’s airport temporarily closed.
