SANTA CLARITA, Calif. -- Princess Cruises took delivery of the Caribbean Princess from the ship's builder, Fincantieri.

The 113,000-ton Love Boat was to sail from the shipyard in Manfalcone, Italy, to Fort Lauderdale, where "Love Boat" actress Jill Whelan will christen it April 2.

The ship will be based in the Caribbean year-round and offer alternating eastern and western Caribbean itineraries.

Princess touted some of the ship's new features, including:
• Caribbean Caliente, a stage that features dance numbers flowing from hits from Latin artists like Tito Puente, Enrique Iglesias and Ricky Martin.
• Princess Idol: Taking a cue from the popular TV show, the line will offer passengers a chance to show off their singing talents--or to judge their fellow passengers.
• In another reality-TV twist, the ship will present a "makeover" show in which the audience follows the progress of two passengers who agree to an all-day makeover and new duds from the onboard stores.
