Princess selects name for second Caribbean ship

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. -- The Crown Princess will be the name of Princess Cruises' second 113,000-ton, Caribbean-based cruise ship.

The Crown Princess will be a sister ship to the Caribbean Princess, which debuted this year and sails year-round in the Caribbean. The Crown Princess launches in May 2006.

As previously reported, the Crown Princess will feature several new eateries, including a wine and seafood bar in the atrium, a steak and seafood restaurant and a redesigned Sabatini's bar and Italian restaurant.

The Crown Princess takes its name from the original Crown Princess, which sailed for Princess from 1990 to 2002; that ship now sails for sister line Aida Cruises as A'Rosa Blu.
