RCCL's Jack Williams to leave company

MIAMI -- Jack Williams will step down as president and COO of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (RCCL), where he has been president since 1997.

A statement from RCCL said Williams will "spend more time championing cystic fibrosis and other charitable causes."

Williams was named president of parent company RCCL two weeks ago after a three-year stint as president and COO of the company's individual lines, Royal Caribbean International and Celebrity Cruises. The company created separate presidents for each brand, naming Adam Goldstein president at Royal Caribbean and Dan Hanrahan president at Celebrity.

According to RCCL, Williams has agreed to help with the transition, which is expected to be completed by June 30. He also will remain executive director of the company's "Shine On" fundraisers, a program he founded two years ago.
