Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. said Cruise Associates and A Wilhelmsen AS, its two largest shareholders, have terminated the shareholders' agreement between them.

Cruise Associates is a partnership of trusts owned by the Pritzker and Ofer families. A Wilhelmsen AS is a privately owned investment company located in Oslo, Norway.

According to RCCL, each party had a right of first refusal if the other wanted to sell shares. Now that the agreement has been terminated, Cruise Associates and A Wilhelmsen can sell shares without offering the other party right of first refusal.

The action between the two shareholders does not involve the company and is not expected to result in any changes in the company’s operations or strategic direction, said Richard Fain, RCCL's chairman and CEO.

RCCL operates the Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises brands.
