Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. will open an office in Sydney in response to increased demand in Australia.

The new office will support the commercial and operational efforts in Australia for Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity and Azamara. Since 2002, the number of Australian cruisers has more than doubled and is predicted to further grow, RCCL said.

"This region shows great growth potential in terms of providing new destinations for international cruise guests from North America, Europe and Asia,” said Michael Bayley, senior vice president of RCCL's international business. "This, coupled with the knowledge that Australia is a substantial source market for new cruise guests, gives us tremendous opportunity for growth in the region."
