Radisson's Conroy to become CLIA chairman

NEW YORK -- Mark Conroy, president of Radisson Seven Seas Cruises and vice chairman of CLIA, will become the group's chairman effective Jan. 1.

Conroy will replace current chairman Rick Sasso, who recently resigned as president of Celebrity Cruises.

As CLIA's vice chairman, Conroy, according to CLIA by-laws, is the designated replacement for Sasso, who left his post within 18 months of his election, said Jim Godsman, CLIA's president. Conroy will not only take over Sasso's remaining term, but also will serve an additional two years through 2004, said Godsman.

CLIA's nominating committee will name a new vice chairman at a meeting in February, said Godsman.
