Regent adds 16 new kitchen classes

|

Regent Seven Seas Cruises has developed 16 new kitchen courses for the February 2020 debut of the Seven Seas Splendor.

They were created by Regent executive director of culinary enrichment Kathryn Kelly and themed to the ship's itineraries in the Caribbean and Mediterranean.

"When I was younger," Kelly said, "we used to go to friends' homes and they would pull out their projector and tell us about their trip through pictures. Today, our guests can share their cruise experiences at home by cooking meals for their friends that represent the destinations they explored during the voyage."

Among the classes is one entitled Batter Up!, which will teach students about batter-based recipes ranging from French crêpes and Tuscan flatbread to Santorini tomato fritters and Turkish zucchini fritters.

Passengers will learn the new recipes in the Splendor's Culinary Arts Kitchen, which consists of 18 individual cooking stations atop three long curved rows, fully equipped with top-of-the-line induction cooktops, stainless steel sinks and a comprehensive collection of cooking essentials.

The new classes will be expanded to Seven Seas Explorer in April 2020.
