The Greek island of Santorini is the most popular port for luxury cruise ships, according to the February CruiseTrends Report by Cruise Complete.
For premium ships, Nassau took the top spot, and river cruisers said Vienna was most popular.
CruiseTrends said the data in its reports are compiled based on actual but anonymous quote requests by consumers on the CruiseCompete website, where travel agents compete to offer the best deal for consumer cruise business.
The February report also found that, for premium cruisers, the Caribbean is the most popular destination. Europe was No. 1 for both luxury and river cruise clients.
Other notable findings: Fort Lauderdale is the most popular departure port for premium cruises, and Germany is the most popular country visited by river cruisers.
The report also rates the popularity of cruise lines and cruise ships. At the premium level, the most popular is Carnival Cruise Line; at the luxury level, it's Oceania; and for river cruising, Ama Waterways is most popular.
Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas is most popular in the premium category; Cunard's Queen Mary 2 in the luxury category; and Ama Waterways' Amalyra in the river category.
