MIAMI -- ResidenSea will incorporate meal and beverage prices into
cruise fares for its apartment rental program on board its ship the
Previously, the option of "free" meals and drinks was available
only to passengers in the ship's studio residence cabins, which
have no kitchens.
The change is part of an expanded rental fare program, which
offers five price categories instead of only two.
And, in another development, ResidenSea also will make its
studio residences available for condo purchase. The line's
motivation is to attract more condo buyers to the ship.
By removing part of the wall between two cabins and adding a
kitchenette, the studios can be turned into one-bedroom
Previously, the cabins were rented on a per-diem basis -- and
they still can be, executives stressed, as long as the cabins' new
owners participate in the rental program and, of course, are not
sailing at the time.
Pricing for the one-bedroom units will start at $1.7 million,
and studio residences will average $900,000, the company said.
