Royal Caribbean International's three ships with itineraries in the Eastern Caribbean are switching to more westerly routes ahead of Tropical Storm Dorian's pass through the Antilles.

The Harmony of the Seas, which left Port Canaveral Aug. 25, will stop at CocoCay, Cozumel, Roatan and Costa Maya, while Allure of the Seas, which left Fort Lauderdale the same day, will stop at Labadee, Falmouth and Cozumel instead of Nassau, St. Thomas and St. Kitts.

The Symphony of the Seas, which left Miami Aug. 24, will drop St. Maarten in favor of a sea day and only call on Labadee, San Juan and CocoCay.

Carnival Cruise Line did not announce itinerary changes but in a statement said it "will remain a safe distance from the system at all times. We will continue to keep a close eye on the weather and provide you with timely updates should any changes to our itinerary become necessary."

Dorian currently has maximum sustained winds of 60 miles an hour and is forecast to become a hurricane on Thursday as it passes west of Puerto Rico. After crossing the mountains of Hispaniola, the storm forecasts downgrade Dorian to a tropical depression.
