Another small-ship line reports a passenger with a positive Covid test

SeaDream Yacht Club suspended sailings of the SeaDream 1 on Wednesday after a Danish guest who disembarked from the ship over the weekend tested positive for Covid-19.

The line joins a growing list of cruise companies, including UnCruise, Paul Gauguin and Hurtigruten, that halted recent sailings after guests or crew were found to be infected with the coronavirus.

SeaDream said neither the guest who tested positive nor any passengers or crew showed symptoms, but the current sailing was suspended after the company was informed of the results. It said the guest was tested after leaving the ship on Sunday as part of Denmark's health protocols.

The yacht has been redirected to the town of Bodo to follow Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) and the Norwegian Directorate of Health's (NDH) guidelines.

"We sincerely hope that there is no Covid-19 on board, and we are not aware of any other guests or crew who are infected or have any symptoms, but we are taking all necessary precautions," SeaDream said in a statement Tuesday. "All guests and crew were informed, as well as the NIPH and the NDH, as soon as we received the information this afternoon."

In accordance with Danish health procedures, the guest will be tested again on Sunday, SeaDream said.
