Seabourn's 2023 summer season will include the luxury line's first voyages to the Northeast and Northwest passages in the Arctic.

The line's upcoming purpose-built expedition ships, the Seabourn Venture and Seabourn Pursuit, will sail the cruises.

The Venture, debuting this spring, will depart July 29, 2023, for a 26-day journey across the Northeast Passage from Tromso, Norway to Nome, Alaska.

Its sister ship, the Pursuit, scheduled to launch in March 2023, will offer a 21-day adventure to the Northwest Passage departing Aug. 27, 2023, from Kangerlussuaq, Greenland, to Nome, Alaska.

These sailings, as well as the entire summer 2023 season, are now open for sale.

The Northeast Passage sailing will navigate Norway and Arctic Russia and visit:

• Storstappen Island, a hotspot for hundreds of thousands of breeding seabird

• Murmansk, Russia, with activities including a visit to the nuclear-powered icebreaker Lenin

• The Barents Sea, home to many migratory sea birds and marine mammals

• Novaya Zemlya, Russia, where guests can hike, kayak and Zodiac

• Franz Joseph Land, an archipelago of 192 islands in the Russian Arctic National Park where polar bears, Atlantic walruses, bowhead whales, and ivory gulls are among the protected species

• Wrangel Island, Russia, a Unesco World Heritage Site above the Arctic Circle often referred to as a polar bear "nursery"

• Provideniya, Russia, a former Soviet military port where guests tour a local museum and visit the cultural center for tea, music and dance.

The Northwest Passage cruise will visit:

• Small Inuit towns such as Cambridge Bay

• The Bellot Strait

• Sisimiut, Greenland's second-largest city

• Ilulissat, which in Greenlandic means "iceberg," located at the terminus of the Jakobshavn Glacier

• Pond Inlet in Nunavut, Canada, where Inuit residents guide a walk through town

• Croker Bay at Devon Island, the world's largest uninhabited island.

Throughout the cruise, the expedition team will deploy the kayaks, Zodiacs and submarines for naturalist-led experiences.
