Silversea expedition ship headed for Tahiti

The Prince Albert II -- an expedition ship that Silversea Cruises acquired, renovated and renamed -- will be deployed in Tahiti from mid-March to late October 2009.

A collection of itineraries will feature the less-traveled regions of Polynesia, ranging from the southernmost Austral Islands to the Tuamotu Archipelago and the northernmost Marquesas Islands.

For the balance of 2008, the 132-passenger ship will offer a series of Antarctic explorations with roundtrip departures from Ushuaia, Argentina.

Silversea acquired the ship last fall, renovated the vessel and christened it the Prince Albert II in June.
