Small-ship operator Variety Cruises is ramping up its presence within the travel trade with an agent rewards program, a webinar series and an expansion of its sales representative staff.
Six sales reps are being deployed across the country, in Baltimore, Washington, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco and Scottsdale, Ariz. Previously the company had two sales reps.
Variety also rolled out a groups program, offering price reductions on cruise fares of up to 20%; a fifth cabin free; upgrades; and in-room amenities.
The Variety Stars Reward Program enables agents to win free cruises, and the company’s new webinar series will roll out during the next three months.
"This increased presence and investment in the travel trade market, and our involvement with several consortia such as Ensemble and Vacation.com, demonstrates our support to our brick-and-mortar agencies and home-based travel partners," said Yiannis Vontas, senior partner and executive vice president of development and marketing.
Variety Cruises owns 11 vessels, including mega-yachts, sail cruisers and private luxury yachts.
