Zaandam's Asia cruises to call at South Korea ports

Holland America Line announced the Zaandam’s 2012 Asia cruise schedule, which features maiden calls to South Korea.

The 1,432-passenger ship will operate four itineraries, including a 14-day China and Korea sailing on Feb. 19, roundtrip from Hong Kong.

The Zaandam will call at Seoul and Jeju, South Korea. The itinerary also provides two full days each at Shanghai and Beijing.

The Zaandam also will operate a series of five, 14-day Asia Explorer voyages between Hong Kong and Singapore, with departures Jan. 8 and 22; Feb. 5; and March 4 and 18.

Calls will be made at Koh Samui and Bangkok, Thailand; Sihanoukville, Cambodia; and Phu My and Nha Trang, Vietnam.

The Feb. 5 sailing can be booked as a 14-day cruise or as part of a 28-day combination sailing of the Asia Explorer and China-Korea itineraries.

A 22-day Japan and Alaska repositioning voyage will depart April 15 from Kobe and travel to Vancouver. Port calls will be made at Jeju and Busan, South Korea; Petropavlovsk, Russia; and Kodiak, Sitka and Glacier Bay, Alaska.

Fares begin at $1,599 per person, double, for the 14-day sailings; $2,099 for the 22-day Japan and Alaska sailing; and $3,399 for the 28-day Asia Explorer Collectors’ Voyage sailing.
