Built in 1999 by Fincanteri in Italy and formerly known as Triumph, this ship underwent a two-month, US$200 million stem-to-stern overhaul.

Part of the Sunshine class, the vessel weighs 101,509 tons and spans 13 decks. Registered in the Bahamas, Sunrise can carry up to 2,984 passengers, who are served by a crew of 1,108. Its inaugural sailing took place April 29, out of Norfolk, VA.
