Queen Mary 2 entered service in January 2004. Built in France and more than twice the size of Queen Elizabeth 2, Queen Mary 2 was for a time the longest passenger ship ever built, measuring 1,132 ft. At 528 tons and a cruising speed of 26 knots/hr, it is still the largest ocean liner ever built. With mostly British officers and an international crew of 1,253, it has taken on the trans-Atlantic schedule that Queen Elizabeth 2 held for more than 30 years.
