The RV Angkor Pandaw is part of what was originally the Irrawaddy Flotilla Company. The company has been revived by historian Paul Strachan and now includes purpose-built vessels that ply rivers other than the Irrawaddy. The colonial-style Angkor Pandaw was built in 2012 in Saigon and is the only vessel to combine the ocean water at Halong Bay and the Red River; in fact, it is the only passenger vessel on the Red River. Maintenance takes place annually.
