PORTLAND, Ore. -- Ya'lla Tours USA, a tour company here that
specializes in Israel and the Middle East, will offer an Aida by
the Pyramids tour in the fall.
The highlight of the tour, which runs from Oct. 9 through 18, is
an Oct. 12 performance of Verdi's "Aida."
Tour participants can fly from any United Airlines gateway to a
Lufthansa hub and then on to Cairo.
A representative from Ya'lla will meet guests on arrival in the

selection is the Sheraton Royal Gardens, a 168-room boutique hotel
located about 15 minutes from the pyramids, and the Gold selection
is the Sheraton Gezirah, a more upscale, 470-room property located
on the Nile at Gezirah Island.
Tours are accompanied by a private guide, and in the Cairo area,
participants will see a number of attractions, including the
pyramids at Giza; the Sphinx; Memphis, and several other pyramids,
some of which are more than 4,000 years old.
Other highlights include the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities,
which is home to the tomb of Tutankhamen.

fly to Aswan to see the Aswan High Dam, the Temple of Philae and
Hotel choices in Aswan are the Oberoi Aswan (Silver) and the

The tour also will include other temples and a stay in Luxor,
where the overnight options are the Sheraton Luxor (Silver) and the
Sonesta St. George Luxor (Gold).

Tour rates are $3,795 per person for Silver hotels and $3,995 a
person for Gold hotels. Single supplements are $495 for Silver
properties and $595 for Gold.
Rates include roundtrip air fare from the U.S. to Cairo,
domestic flights within Egypt, many meals, some attractions and
tickets to "Aida."
A $500 deposit is required, and final payment is due 90 days
prior to departure.
