'Madness' returns for sixth year with tankload of dive plans

GEORGE TOWN, Grand Cayman -- Cayman Madness is in full swing for the sixth year, bringing with it a tankload of seven-day (Thursday to Thursday) dive programs, valid through Oct. 21.

Dive programs are available at Treasure Island Resort, home of Bob Soto's Diving Ltd. PADI Training Facility and Scuba Sensations dive shop; at Seaview Hotel; Plantation Village Beach Resort, and Regal Beach Club condominiums.

Madness '99 programs begin at $999 per person, double, and cover roundtrip air fare on Cayman Airways from Miami or Tampa; accommodations, taxes and service charges; a T-shirt; four evening parties; an underwater treasure hunt; a barbecue, and more than $50,000 in prizes.

A special rate of $199 per person, double, is offered on the Atlantis submarine's Deep Explorer trips.

Cayman Madness participants also receive discounts on van, car and Jeep rentals from Coconut Car Rentals.
