'Spring Break' vacations on tap

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. -- Endless Summer Tours is accepting reservations for its seven-night, land-only Spring Break vacations to Panama City Beach, Fla. Vacations take place Saturdays to Saturdays from the last weekend in February to the second weekend in April.

Rates of $311 per person, double, include a room at the 80-unit Mark II; resort taxes and service charges; welcome beach party and pool party; a Spring Break T-shirt, and a wristband for admission (either free or discounted) to nightclubs.

The Panama City Beach area is popular with high school and college students on spring break. Hotels offered at a higher cost are the 122-room Quality Inn Beach Front, at $371, the 150-room Boardwalk Beach, at $511, and the Summit. The Summit, a 449-unit condominium property, handles a minimum of three or more occupants sharing the same accommodations. Rates are $511 per person, triple.

In addition to Florida, Endless Summer Vacations operates charters to Acapulco, Cancun and Mazatlan, Mexico; the Bahamas, and Padre Island, Texas. Mark Perry, agency and group sales manager, said commissions begin at 10% and climb to 15%, depending on the number of passengers booked on the firm's programs. For example, 11% is earned once an agent generates 20 passengers, and 15% is earned when 220 are reached. An agent organizing a single motorcoach group would qualify for the 11%, he said.

The Florida trips, however, tend to draw self-drive vacationers, Perry said, rather than air passengers because Panama City is in northern Florida. However, it does have an airport. For air service information, call (800) PC-BEACH. For tour information, contact Endless Summer Tours at (800) 234-7007.
