'WeddingMoons' plans pay 12%

NEW YORK -- WeddingMoons packages at Sandals and Beaches resorts pay agents 12% on the basic plan as well as on any prepaid options.

The average price for the packages, including accommodations, ranges between $2,000 and $5,000, according to Karen Blutcher, wedding supervisor for the resort chain.

Couples booking five nights or longer receive the components of the basic WeddingMoons package free, including the ceremony; bridal bouquet and boutonniere; champagne; hors d'oeuvres and wedding cake; a photograph; dinner for two; continental breakfast the morning after, and Just Married T-shirts.

For shorter stays, the basic package is priced at $750, not including accommodations.

Items, such as additional floral arrangements and videos, are extra.

Karen Sprung, group spa and fitness director, said spa treatments can be incorporated into packages at an additional fee to ease frazzled prenuptial nerves.

On the wedding day, for example, the bride can select hair styling, makeup and pampering treatments.

The staff also can help the bride to dress and deliver her to the ceremony.

The spa has been a popular site for bridal showers, Sprung said.

Wedding gift certificates from the spa cover hydrotherapy baths, massage therapy, facials and body wraps.

Each Sandals and Beaches resort employs an on-site wedding consultant who can arrange ceremonies in sites as varied as a boat lined with palm trees or a beach at sunset.

Traditional religious services also can be be arranged.

Ministers are readily available, but services performed by other clergy, such as rabbis, priests or imams, require additional planning.
