150,000 Tickets Sold to Diana Site

LONDON -- Some 150,000 admission tickets to Althorp, the ancestral estate and burial place of Diana, Princess of Wales, sold out just days after they were made available to the public.

Althorp is located near Northampton, England, about 70 miles north of London.

The princess was killed in a Paris car crash last Aug. 31, and was buried at Althorp on Sept. 6.

The Spencer family estate will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from July 1, which is the princess' birthday, to Aug. 30.

Tickets were sold for $15 each, with profits benefiting the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund.

She is buried on a small island on the estate. No visitors will be allowed on the island, but will be able to see a memorial marking her grave.

A stable block at Althorp House is being converted into a museum devoted to the princess' life, and a visitors center will be constructed.

The ticket hot line number is (011) 44-160 459-2020.
