A&K adds pair of itineraries that feature Nile cruises

OAK BROOK, Ill. -- Clients traveling with Abercombie & Kent to Egypt will find two new programs that feature Nile cruises aboard the Sun Boat IV and Sun Boat III.

The Splendors of the Nile, a 10-night program, spends three days and nights in Cairo before flying guests south to Abu Simbel to see the temple of Ramses.

Continuing to Aswan by air, clients will board the Sun Boat IV to begin a six-day cruise to the temples at Kom Ombo, Edfu, Isna and Dendera.

Karnak and Luxor are cruise highlights as are the temple of Hatshepsut (Egypt's only female pharaoh) and the Valley of the Kings (resting place of Tutankhamen).

Departures are monthly from August through December, and the land-cruise cost per person, double occupancy, starts at $3,310.

Clients on Abercrombie & Kent's Pharaohs and Pyramids tours will visit the Pyramids of Giza. A&K also introduced a Family Holiday tour, showcasing the best of Egypt without taxing younger attention spans with a program that includes activities and amenities designed for children.

This nine-night tour includes a five-day cruise between Luxor and Aswan as well as the sites and antiquities of Cairo, nearby Memphis and Abu Simbel.

Prices start at $2,430 per person for adults and $2,065 for children under age 12. The tour's departure date is Dec. 16.
