ATLANTA -- AirTran Airways launched daily service between Grand
Bahama Island and Atlanta on Dec. 12.
Grand Bahama is the 33rd destination the airline serves and its
only international point.
Flights from Atlanta depart at 10 a.m. with returning flights
departing at 12:35 p.m.
AirTran is offering an introductory fare of $79 one way with a
seven-day advance purchase.
Tickets must be purchased by Jan. 31 and travel must be
completed by Feb. 7.
Several other airlines also increased their flights to the
Bahamas this winter.
Delta will offer seasonal service from Boston to Nassau
beginning Jan. 31. Flights depart Saturdays, Sundays and
TWA launched service from New York (Kennedy) to Grand Bahama
Island on Dec. 21. Flights depart Thursdays through Mondays.
TWA also will begin service from Newark to Grand Bahama Island
on Feb. 1. Flights are operated by Freeport/Lucayan Express and
depart daily, except Wednesdays and Saturdays.
TNT launched charter service from Boston to Grand Bahama Island
on Dec. 21. The flights depart Thursdays and Sundays.
