Amelia Island plans to host two industry meetings this fall

AMELIA ISLAND -- Amelia Island Plantation will play host to two industry meetings this fall.

Visit Florida, the state's public-private tourist promotion organization, which is based in Tallahassee, is scheduled to hold meetings on the morning of Sept. 22.

Subcommittees slated to meet cover the following areas: ecotourism-heritage tourism and multicultural and visitor services advisory. In addition, that afternoon the finance and partner-development committees will convene.

On Sept. 23, Visit Florida's board of directors will meet, and thereafter the Florida Commission on Tourism, which oversees Visit Florida's work, will convene. Visit Florida's meetings are open to the public.

From Oct. 28 to 31, the American Bus Association's Business and Education Conference will be held.
