MIAMI -- American Airlines expanded its Brazil service and its
marketing alliance with TAM Brazilian Airlines when it launched new
code-share flights between Miami and Manaus with continuing service
Under the arrangement, American will place its code and flight
number on flights operated by TAM between Miami and Manaus.
American also will place its code on TAM's continuing service to
Brasilia and on TAM flights that connect beyond Manaus and Brasilia
to Belem, Cuiaba, Goiania and Sao Luis.
This brings the number of cities American serves in Brazil in
cooperation with TAM to 14.
American also offers nonstop service between its U.S. gateways
and both Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, as well as one-stop service
to Belo Horizonte.
The nonstop flight to Manaus takes less than six hours, which is
half the travel time compared with connecting itineraries via the
traditional gateways of San Paulo or Rio de Janeiro.
