Amsterdam Offers Passes to Attractions

AMSTERDAM, the Netherlands -- Passes incorporating museums and other attractions are available to visitors in Amsterdam and the Hague.

The Amsterdam Culture & Leisure Pass is a booklet containing 31 vouchers redeemable for free admission and discounts at museums, discounts at restaurants and other special offers.

Included are free entry to the Stedelijk Museum of Modern Art, the Amsterdam Historical Museum, the Rembrandt House Museum and either the Rijksmuseum or van Gogh Museum.

Also featured are discounts on admission to the Jewish Historical Museum, Cobra Museum of Modern Art, Netherlands Maritime Museum and Frans Hals Museum as well as a discount for Amsterdam's Museum Boat, which travels to the museums via the city's canals.

Other inclusions are free admission to city attractions and discounts on a canal tour, the city's tram service and at various restaurants.

The price of the pass, which is valid through March 31, 1999, is approximately $18; for agents, approximately $15.

For clients who want to purchase the pass after they arrive in Amsterdam, it is available at the Holland Tourist Information counter at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and at any of the Amsterdam tourist offices in the city.

In the Hague, visitors can purchase the Hague Chequebook, which features discounts worth more than $49 at museums, restaurants, shops and attractions.

The Hague Chequebook is available to the travel industry for approximately $2.50.
