Antigua registers increase in air and cruise visitors

|

Stayover arrivals for Antigua and Barbuda in 2007 totaled approximately 250,000 visitors, a 3.2% increase over 2006, according to the country's ministry of tourism.

The U.S. market grew 7% last year, trailing just the U.K., the largest source market for the twin-island destination. The cruise market grew a record 42.7%, as close to half a million passengers visted Antigua and Barbuda in 2007.

Officials project a 5% increase in stayover arrivals this year and even stronger growth in the cruise market.
