Aruba properties promote family-friendly programs

ORANJESTAD, Aruba -- New family packages offered by the inclusive, 203-room Divi Aruba Beach Resort and the 236-room Tamarijn Aruba Beach Resort allow guests under the age of 18 to stay for free.

These value-added features are available year-round. The resorts also relaxed their restrictions on dining to permit adults and children to dine at all of the restaurants and snack bars and to order from the regular menus.

The offer applies to single parents and grandparents traveling with children; no more than two children can share a room with at least one adult.

The Family Extra option allows an adult to purchase a separate room for children (maximum four per room), for $130 per night through Dec. 20. Family packages also include a camp for kids ages 5 to 12.

Camp activities feature nature walks, shuffleboard, shirt-decorating contests, sand sculpting, movies, cooking classes, storytelling and dancing.

Both properties have two freshwater pools, fitness areas, tennis and a range of nonmotorized water sports, including snorkeling, sailing and windsurfing.

Nightly rates start at $260 per person, double, at Tamarijn and at $280 at Divi. Prices include accommodations; meals, snacks and beverages; entertainment; a coupon book for use in the adjacent Alhambra Casino; and taxes and service fees.

Guests at the Divi Aruba Beach can use the facilities at the adjacent Tamarijn Aruba; those booked in the Tamarijn's deluxe oceanfront rooms have access to all facilities at the Divi Aruba.

The hotels are a 10-minute drive from the airport and five minutes from Oranjestad. A shopping arcade and casino also are nearby.

Honeymoon, golf and dive packages are also available. All programs are commissionable at 10%.
