Aruba value-added deals, agent incentives set

ORANJESTAD, Aruba -- Aruba visitor interests extended a new round of value-added deals -- this time for American Express cardholders -- in cooperation with Travel Impressions.

Under the plan, there is a June 30 booking deadline for the required five-night package, but travel is permitted through Jan. 31.

The benefits for clients include a free fifth night and a discount card for visitor services. For the three agents who generate the most bookings, there is a free travel incentive.

To qualify for the value-added deals, cardholders must purchase (from any travel agent) a five-night or longer Aruba package offered by one of the two participating tour operators. The package must be charged to the American Express Card.

By doing so, clients will receive a Vacation Values Card with $1,870 worth of discounts when it is presented in Aruba at participating shops, restaurants, dining, entertainment and various activity outlets.

In addition, cardholders enrolled in American Express' Membership Rewards program will earn double bonus points for the mileage.

When the maximum value of the discount card and the free-night deal are added, the total savings could reach $2,232.

For travel agents, there will be prizes for the three agents who generate the most bookings under the program.

The grand prize is a five-night vacation for two to Aruba including roundtrip air, hotel and a dine-around plan.

The second place prize is a five-night land-only stay at the Radisson or Wyndham in Aruba.

The third place prize is a three-night land-only stay at the Tamarijn Aruba Beach Resort.
