Atlanta museum to host series of exhibits

ATLANTA -- The city will host several cultural events beginning this fall.

A rundown follows:

  • The High Museum of Art will host an exhibition of Norman Rockwell's paintings Nov. 6 through Jan. 30, 2000. The exhibition, "Pictures for the American People," is a collection of his works previously featured in the Saturday Evening Post depicting everyday life. High Museum of Art Phone: (404) 733-4400
  • The Atlanta History Center is featuring a show displaying George Washington's personal artifacts. The exhibit is scheduled to run October through December. Also on tap for the Atlanta History Center is an exhibit based on Atlanta's Native American population. The show, "A Study of the Region's Native Americans: The Creek and Cherokee Indian Tribes of Georgia," starts in November. The exhibition is the first in the region to focus on Native Americans.
