BVI property alters price plan

VIRGIN GORDA, British Virgin Islands -- Bitter End Resort changed its pricing structure to include lower per night rates and no minimum-stay requirements.

Hillside units at Bitter End Yacht Club on Virgin Gorda overlook the resort's busy harbor and dock area. Under the new system, rates are broken down into four seasons and are based on the type and location of the room selected.

Per night rates, based on double occupancy, are as follows:

  • High Season, through April 30, $500 to $700.
  • Celebration Season, May 1 through Oct. 31, $375 to $525.
  • Sailing Season, Nov. 1 to Dec. 22, $400 to $550.
  • Holiday Season, Dec. 23 to Jan. 6 , $700 to $800.
  • "We're responding to vacationers' needs," said Dana Hokin, managing director of Bitter End Yacht Club.

"Our new and improved price structure will allow us to attract a wider audience of sailors, families, water-sports enthusiasts, romantics and adventure travelers.

"And above all, it offers all of our guests greater flexibility in planning their vacations," Ho-kin said.

The property features 95 accommodations, including beachfront villas, North Sound suites and live-aboard Freedom 30 yachts.

Activities available include scuba diving, sailing, fishing, windsurfing and hiking.

Last fall, the resort completed a multimillion-dollar renovation that resulted in three remodeled dining venues: the Clubhouse & Seafood Grille, the Carvery and the Emporium Pub.

It also added a Yachtsman Bathhouse and Lounge to accommodate visiting boaters.

A state-of-the-art back-office communications system was installed to streamline hotel operations and improve the check-in and check-out pro-cesses.

Additionally, the resort added a PBX phone system that features different rings for each room and enables guests to have phone service from their room 24 hours a day.

Bitter End also introduced European Plan packages.
