Bahamas resort woos golfers

FREEPORT, Bahamas -- For golfers, the location doesn't get much better.

The 15 suites at the Chillingsworth Court Condominium Resort, which pays standard commissions, overlook the 16th fairway at the Ruby Golf Course, one of four championship, 18-hole courses on Grand Bahama Island. Soon, dive packages will be available for online booking, as well.

Golfers staying here at Chillingsworth Court also have access to discounted rates offered at the courses of the nearby Royal Oasis Golf Resort & Casino (the former Princess Golf Resort).

Tee times can be booked in advance on line at these and other courses on the island. Greens fees range from $160 for three rounds of golf to $750 for unlimited play for two golfers for seven days.

Details on Chillingsworth Court's golf program are available though the property's Web site at www.chillingsworthcourt.com.

The property can be booked through its Web site, which has a booking section for agents and operators, as well as the major GDSs, according to owner Richard Abrahamson.

Each of the renovated suites includes a full kitchen; a living/dining room; a patio; a bedroom with a queen-size bed or two double beds; and a full bathroom.

The units accommodate up to four; children 11 years old and younger stay free.

Amenities include maid service every other day, a freshwater pool, in-house laundry facilities and cable TV.

Guests also have access to the recreational facilities at the Royal Oasis, a half-mile away.

Nightly rates for a one-bedroom condominium through Dec. 14 start at $174, double.
