Bellagio Gallery to exhibit works by Monet

LAS VEGAS -- The Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art collaborated with Boston's Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) to bring an exhibition of the works of Claude Monet to Las Vegas.

"Claude Monet: Masterworks from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston" is set to run from Jan. 30 through Sept. 13 and will feature 21 pieces -- including some of the Impressionist artist's most famous paintings -- from one of the largest collections of Monet works outside of France.

The works on exhibit will include "Camille Monet and a Child in the Artist's Garden in Argenteuil," "Grainstack," "Rouen Cathedral, Facade," "Water Lilies" and "The Water Lily Pond."

The exhibit represents the largest loan of Monet paintings by the MFA to a single institution in more than 10 years, and it includes works from nearly every period of the artist's life.

The Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art, anticipating a large number of attendees for the show, will extend its operating hours from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Tickets, which went on sale today, are $15 per person and $12 for students, Nevada residents and senior citizens older than 65.

For more information or ticket sales, call (877) 957-9777 or (702) 693-7871 or visit www.bgfa.biz.

Tickets also will be available for the first time online at www.ticketweb.com.

The Bellagio gallery also teamed up with the MFA to produce a limited-edition exhibition catalog and several commemorative items.

They, along with the MFA's line of Monet merchandise, will be on sale in the Gallery Store, which is open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
