LAS VEGAS -- Long lines waiting to get into the Gallery of Fine
Arts at the Bellagio have prompted a major expansion only eight
months after the Strip resort's opening.
Mirage Resorts chairman Steve Wynn said the $7.5 million
expansion will move the gallery to a new site opposite the hotel
The gallery, which has a $300 million collection of paintings by
van Gogh, da Vinci, Rembrandt, Michelangelo and others, will be
doubled to more than 2,600 square feet.
The original gallery of 21 works of art will be expanded to 60
paintings and sculptures. The attraction is expected to draw
750,000 visitors this year.
