Bermuda nearly unscathed by Hurricane Bill

Hurricane Bill passed Bermuda about 200 miles to the west on Friday, causing very little damage.

Gusty winds knocked out power in some locations and the pounding surf might have caused sand erosion on some beaches, but that was the extent of the damage, according to published reports.

Bermuda's airport reopened on Saturday.

Bill was a Category 2 hurricane when it passed Bermuda, according to the National Weather Service.
