Biloxi facility adds luxury hotel

BILOXI, Miss.--Casino Magic here added a luxury hotel, called the Casino Magic Hotel, with a restaurant that features a view of the beachfront.

The 378-room property has 86 suites, three sundecks, an indoor swimming pool and a Jacuzzi, a spa and salon, an exercise room, retail shops, an arcade and eight meeting rooms totaling 6,600 square feet. All of the guest rooms have a view of the gulf, as does the Reflections restaurant, located on the 10th floor.

Among the restaurant's buffet specialties are baked tilapia with crawfish mousse, broiled lobster, honey-smoked turkey breast, roast loin of pork and beef tenderloin.

Of the hotel's 86 suites, 16 are themed. According to Michael Culberson, director of hotel operations, the company spent $50,000 on each of the themed suites in a thrust toward achieving a four-star, four-diamond rating from such sources as AAA and Mobil.

Room rates start at $129 per night on weekdays and $149 per night on weekends and range up to $1,000 per night for a themed suite.

The hotel offers several packages, including a golf plan for one, two or three nights. Included are 18 holes of golf per day, including cart, at the Arnold Palmer-designed Bridges golf course, which is located at Casino Magic Bay St. Louis; breakfast buffet daily; a $5 match play discount per person, and a $5 bonus slot coin with a $20 purchase. Prices range from $146 per room, double, for one night to $621 per room, single, for three nights.
