WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The American Bus Association's "Best &
the Rest" survey of top motorcoach destinations contained few
surprises this year.
For the fourth straight year, Branson, Mo., topped the list,
which is derived from surveys of motorcoach and tour operators.
Other results for the best all-around city showed Nashville,
Tenn., in second, followed by Washington, D.C. The two cities were
reversed last year, with Washington listed on top.
Myrtle Beach, S.C., won for "Hottest Up-and-Coming Destination"
for the third straight year.
Branson was also top choice for the city that offers the best
value for money spent, a new category. Myrtle Beach was second
while Toronto and Washington tied for third.
New York was cited by the tour operators for the fourth year in
a row as the "City That Needs to Be Nicer to Groups."
Operators ranked gaming as the fastest-growing activity for the
third straight year and named Atlantic City as the most popular
casino or gaming attraction, also a new category.
