CHA Announces Speaker Lineup for Investment Conference

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico -- Officials of the Caribbean Hotel Association, based here, have lined up a roster of top travel executives to address the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Investment Conference, slated for April 3 and 4 in the Bahamas.

Robert Crandall, chairman and chief executive officer of AMR Corp., parent company of American Airlines, will keynote the conference, which will be held at the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort and Casino.

Hubert Ingraham, Prime Minister of the Bahamas , will deliver the opening address and Sir John Templeton, founder of the Templeton Mutual Fund, will deliver the feature address on April 3.

Other speakers include Gordon "Butch" Stewart, chairman and chief executive officer of Sandals Resorts and Air Jamaica; Sol Kerzner, chairman and chief executive officer of Sun International; Douglas Geoga, president of Hyatt Hotels; World Bank official Winston Cox, and European Investment Bank executive Claudio Cortese.

In addition, the prime ministers of Barbados, Jamaica and St. Kitts and Nevis will address attendees.

CHA is organizing the event along with the Caribbean Tourism Organization.

Government, tourism industry and investment company officials will work together to upgrade the Caribbean investment climate, make the investment community aware of development opportunities and stimulate a flow of equity and loan capital into the region.
