NEW YORK -- The Camino Real Mexico City turns 30 years old this
year and is having a party to mark the occasion.
The property boasts a few new features this year.
"We expect 800 to 900 guests from the U.S., Europe and from
within Mexico for the July 24 celebration," said Julio
Sanchez-Mejorada, resident manager of the property.
The event, he said, will include presentations of local food and
five kinds of music, from classical to dance.
Recently, the Camino Real completed a $1 million renovation to
its suites area, which over the years has housed royalty,
presidents, prime ministers as well as business and financial

preferred by visiting dignitaries.

The 709-room property, designed by Mexican architect Ricardo
Legorreta, is laid out on seven-and-a-half acres.
Often referred to as a "resort" hotel in the heart of the city,
it features extensive gardens, three pools, four tennis courts and
a complete health club and spa and is located near a jogging
facility in Chapultepec Park.
Reportedly, there is more than $30 million in art on display
throughout the property.
Camino Real Mexico City, a member of the Leading Hotels of the
World since 1983 (and its first in Latin America), offers a
business center and 37 meeting rooms, the largest accommodating up
to 1,500 people.
Anniversary room rates range from $239 to $639 weekdays (Sundays
to Thursdays) and $169 to $459 on weekends. Rates include breakfast
and an arrival amenity but do not include taxes.
